The 11th edition of Ride For Safety was flagged of by renowned Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan at the MMRDA Grounds in Bandra-Kurla Complex, Mumbai. The ride was organized by Wheelieboy Adventure (I) Ltd on Sunday, 21st December and was a big success. Over 2,500 riders from Mumbai registered for the event and among them were 1,000 college students spreading awareness on the use of helmet while riding.
The bandwagon led by Vijay Jain, the brain behind this concept, made a lap of 50km starting BKC and covering Kalanagar, Mahim, Shivaji Park, Prabhadevi, Worli, Haji Ali, Pedder Road, Babulnath Road, Girgaum Chowpatty, Marine Drive, Necklace Road, Nariman Point and back to BKC via the same route in reverse.
Mr. Rakesh Maria was ecstatic about the ride and was grateful towards all the riders participating in this event which promoted Helmet Awareness throughout the city. He stressed on the importance on wearing helmets while riding any kind of bike be it 80cc moped or a 1300cc superbike.
Vijay Jain was a satisfied man after the ride and promised to take this concept throughout India in 2015 if all things go as planned. He said, “ 2015 will be a lot bigger for Wheelieboy Adventures and Ride for Safety, we are entering into partnerships with corporate giants and for starters we have received a strong support this year from Gulf Oil, who gifted 1000 helmets to the Mumbai Traffic Police. I expect all of you to come and be a part of Ride For Safety 2015.”
