Yamaha India Recalls YZF R1 Due To A Defect






Yamaha India has recalled certain YZF R1 superbikes to fix a defect in the headlight lead coupler. The Headlight lead coupler overheats and melts for YZF R1 bikes manufactured within a particular serial numbers. To check if your R1 is defective or not, visit the following link :




This recall has been initiated by the parent company, Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd., Japan which found this defect and has recalled R1 sold all over the world. Yamaha insists that this defective component must be replaced at its earliest to avoid damage to the vehicle.


The replacement of this defective part will be Free of Cost. Yamaha India requests all R1 users to not to use the bike till the defective part is replaced.
